CONSTRUCTION NOTICES-Residents and Businesses: Starting May 4th for specific blocks on Elgin, Brown, Circle, Franklin and Marengo…

ELGIN RESURFACING Project ~ 1200-1500 Elgin (Roosevelt to 16th)The work is scheduled to begin Monday, May 4th.  The work is expected to take two (2) months, weather premitting.

  • Periodic closures during the work without notice
  • Parking on street will be prohibited during working hours of 6:00am-5:00pm.  No parking signs will be posted.  Any vehicles in violation of posted times will risk ticketing and towing at the owner’s expense.
  • Driveways will be accessible as much as possible. However, there may be short periods of time where they may not.

2019  BROWN STREET TIF IMPROVEMENTS Project ~ (7200-7300 Circle,  7200-7400 Franklin,  7500 Brown,  000 Marengo,  000-100 Elgin) The final phase of work is scheduled to begin Monday, May 4th.  The work is expected to take approximately four (4) weeks, weather premitting.

  • During this time street parking will NOT be allowed between the hours of 6:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday.  No Parking signs will be posted.  Any vehicles in violation of posted times will risk ticketing and towing at the owner’s expense.

Residents, Essential Workers and Visitors Required to Wear Facial Covering…

Mayor Hoskins signed an Executive Directive on Monday requiring Forest Park residents, essential workers and visitors to wear masks or facial covering when engaged in indoor activities/places open to the public (e.g., grocery stores, public transit), and/or when outdoors if it is not possible to maintain social distancing.  Click here to view the document.

Yard Waste and Bulk Items pickup will resume

Republic Services for Waste Hauling (yard waste and bulk items) will return to normal services.  Yard waste and bulk items will be picked up as they were previously beginning the week of 04/27/2020.  The service will also extend into the fall for an extra month to make up for the month lost this Spring.
